HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN BEESWAX CLOTH WRAPS AT HOME
Cosmetic-grade beeswax pellets
100% cotton fabric
Scissors or pinking shears
Binder clips or clothespins
jojoba, coconut oil
Powder pine resin
1. Cut the fabric
Pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees
Cut the fabric into sizes fitting the baking sheet
Pinking shears will help prevent the swatches from fraying
2. Place it on the baking tray
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper then place the fabric on top. A fresh piece of parchment should be used each time to make another wrap.
3. Sprinkle the pellets
Spread beeswax pellets all over the fabric evenly, also near the edges
4. Melt and spread the beeswax
Place the sheet in the oven for about 4-8 minutes.
After the pellets melted completely, spread the wax evenly on the entire fabric with a brush
5. Let dry
Remove the fabric from the baking sheet by using tongs.
Hang the fabric up to dry with the beeswax side facing up.
6. Customise your wraps
Gently wash the wrap with cold water and eventually mild Castille soap by hands.
Gently place them on a drying rack.
AVOID any source of heat which could cause the wraps to melt.
