HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN BEESWAX CLOTH WRAPS AT HOME

Components :

  • Cosmetic-grade beeswax pellets

  • 100% cotton fabric

  • Scissors or pinking shears

  • Brush

  • Parchment paper

  • Baking sheet

Optionals :

  • Hanger

  • Binder clips or clothespins

  • Ruler

  • jojoba, coconut oil

  • Powder pine resin

Preparation :

1. Cut the fabric

  • Pre-heat the oven at 200 degrees

  • Cut the fabric into sizes fitting the baking sheet

  • Pinking shears will help prevent the swatches from fraying

2. Place it on the baking tray

- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper then place the fabric on top. A fresh piece of parchment should be used each time to make another wrap.

3. Sprinkle the pellets

  • Spread beeswax pellets all over the fabric evenly, also near the edges

4. Melt and spread the beeswax

  • Place the sheet in the oven for about 4-8 minutes.

  • After the pellets melted completely, spread the wax evenly on the entire fabric with a brush

5. Let dry

  • Remove the fabric from the baking sheet by using tongs.

  • Hang the fabric up to dry with the beeswax side facing up.

6. Customise your wraps

  • Snack bags

  • Sandwich wraps

Care :

  1. Gently wash the wrap with cold water and eventually mild Castille soap by hands.

  2. Gently place them on a drying rack.

  3. AVOID any source of heat which could cause the wraps to melt.
