ROASTED PORK AND MASHED POTATOES

You have guests tonight, it’s raining and windy out there, how about checking your F4A APP to see what it has to offer as an inspiration for your dinner? Pork is a very easy meat to cook tenderly. You just need an oven, season it according to your taste and leave it to cook. Easy! For the side dish, the mashed potatoes are the best choice. Their fluffiness is calling for the meat’s juice, plus, adding some nutmeg makes it even yummier!

A proper “grandma’s” recipe, this pork roast with mashed potatoes is mouth watering delicious.





Ingredients for 5 servings :

1kg pork meat

Salt

Thyme

Paprika

Pepper

Garlic

Rosemary

Oil

Water

White wine




1kg of floury potatoes

125ml of whole milk

½ freshly grated Nutmeg

125gr of unsalted butter

1 tablespoon of double cream

Parsley


Preparation of the marinade for the meat :

1/2 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon thyme

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoons pepper

Add a little bit of rosemary


  • Wash the meat then dry it with a napkin Marinate well on every side

  • Prepare (stab) the meat and add garlic on all the sides of the meat

  • Baste with 2 tablespoons of oil and 100 ml of water in an oven plate, decorate with rosemary

  • Meat in the oven to maximum heat for about 20 minutes

  • Then reduce it to 180°-200°C and leave for another hour


The mashed potatoes

  • Boil the potatoes for about 25 minutes until they are tender

  • Drain and return the potatoes to the pan, cover it with a clean tea towel and a lid in order to absorb the steam.

  • At the same time, heat up the milk, nutmeg, parsley and butter until the butter has melted.

  • Uncover the potatoes and mash. Mix in the milk and beat the potatoes until fluffy. Add cream for an extra layer of joy.
